Lundgren
Swedish boutique pickups used by Meshuggah and Periphery. The standard of European progressive metal and djent.
About the brand
Johan Lundgren founded Lundgren Pickups in Sweden in 1994. The company is virtually unknown outside the progressive metal world, but within it is considered the absolute reference. The M6 humbucker is Meshuggah's pickup of choice and directly responsible for a significant part of the sound that defined djent.
The Heaven 57, designed to capture the character of the 1957 Gibson PAF, demonstrates that Lundgren has as much talent for vintage tone as for extreme metal. The company has been producing pickups for 7- and 8-string guitars since before that format was popular, making it one of the references for extended-range guitarists.
All orders are hand-made in Sweden, often with long wait times, which has only enhanced the brand's mystique in the progressive metal community. The M7 and M8 are the 7- and 8-string versions of the M6 design.
