Fulltone
Pioneering boutique brand that helped create the modern boutique pedal market. OCD is one of the most popular overdrives ever built.
About the brand
Fulltone was founded in Los Angeles in 1991 by Michael Fuller, making it one of the earliest boutique pedal companies. Fuller's approach — hand-wired circuits, premium components, obsessive attention to component selection — set the template that the entire boutique industry has since followed.
The OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Drive) is the best-selling Fulltone product and one of the most versatile overdrives ever made. Its HP/LP switch allows it to go from an almost fuzz-like saturation to a bright, spanky push. The Full-Drive 2 is similarly beloved among blues and country players.
Note: Michael Fuller's company faced significant controversy following public statements in 2020, and Fulltone has since stopped operations. The legacy pedals — OCD, Full-Drive 2, Clyde Deluxe Wah — remain in wide use and on the used market, and the designs have influenced countless boutique builders.
