Ormsby Guitars
Australian luthiery recognised for multiscale designs, spectacular finishes, and a dominant presence in progressive metal and djent.
About the brand
Ormsby Guitars was founded in 2006 by Australian luthier Perry Ormsby in Perth, Western Australia. The brand started as a handcrafted workshop and gained international recognition through its unique finishing work and precision builds.
The Ormsby HypeGT series, a more affordable line produced in Asia under Perry's direct supervision, opened the brand to a broader audience without sacrificing quality. Available in multiscale 6, 7 and 8 string configurations, these guitars quickly became the go-to choice for djent and progressive metal players worldwide.
Ormsby is particularly known for its breathtaking finishes: quilted maple, ash with grain filler, and iridescent colour treatments that turn every guitar into a visually unique piece. Ultra-fast necks and metal-focused specifications complement an aesthetic that has become a genre standard.
