Randall Amplifiers
The most powerful solid-state amplifiers in metal. Dimebag Darrell and Kirk Hammett built their touring tones around Randall, famous for aggression and reliability.
About the brand
Randall Amplifiers was founded in 1968 by Don Randall โ the same Don Randall who had been president of Fender Sales Corporation in the 1950s and 60s. After leaving Fender, Randall founded his own amplifier company with a different focus: high-powered solid-state amplifiers designed for rock and metal.
Dimebag Darrell of Pantera was Randall's most prominent endorser during the 1990s. The sound of Pantera โ the extreme metal tone that defines groove metal of the era โ was built around Randall RG100ES modules and Century 200 heads. Kirk Hammett of Metallica also used Randall on some tours. The brand became synonymous with high gain without the maintenance problems of valves.
Randall continues to produce both solid-state and valve amplifiers, with the Thrasher line and Dimebag Darrell signature models. The company has gone through several owners and today operates under the Loud Audio umbrella.
