Kemper
The profiler that revolutionised modern live performance. The Kemper Profiler captures the exact sound of any real amplifier with fidelity no other system has matched.
About the brand
Kemper Amplification was founded in 2011 by Christoph Kemper in Rietberg, Germany. Christoph Kemper had previously founded Access Music (creators of the Virus synthesiser) before creating Kemper. The Profiler was the result of years of research into how to mathematically capture the response of a real valve amplifier, including its non-linearities and its dynamic behaviour under different volumes.
The Kemper Profiler quickly became the standard for professional touring: a single device can contain thousands of profiles of the world's best amplifiers, allowing the guitarist to carry their entire tonal arsenal in a briefcase rather than truckloads of amplifiers. Artists like John Petrucci, Steve Lukather and Devin Townsend adopted the Kemper for their tours.
The Kemper range includes the original rack or head Profiler, the Profiler Stage (pedalboard format without a separate screen) and the Profiler Player launched in 2023. The brand also manages the Rig Exchange, a platform where users share their profiles for free.
